Young Ambassadors for Wilderness

Student Applications due this Friday!

Young Ambassadors for Wilderness is a new program for teenagers who love wilderness and want to work to protect wilderness throughout their lives.

Students currently in grades 8-10 are eligible to apply for this unique program. Young Ambassadors for Wilderness spend 6-10 hours a month working with an adult mentor, communicating with peers throughout the state, and learning wilderness, leadership, and communication skills.

Unique opportunities include:
Wilderness outings
Shadowing a wilderness ranger
Attending the National 50th Anniversary of Wilderness Conference in New Mexico in October 2014
The program is a 20 month commitment and runs April 2013 - November 2014.

Applications are due March 15, 2013.
