Teton Science Schools' Young Women and Science Field Research Program

Ninth grade girls are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity at the Kelly Campus of the Teton Science Schools. This residential program looks to ground young women in the study of various sciences, including a close look at the ecology of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Students will also be exposed to outdoor and naturalist skills, such as how to use map keys and field guides, make careful observations, and keep a field journal. The program begins on October 29th and ends on November 4th. Applications are due on October 3rd.

Girl Powered Teen Adventure Camp

Overnight summer camps for girls ages 11-17 in Montana, Hawaii, Alaska, Washington and Norway.

Activities offered during our 1, 2 or 3 week tent-camping wilderness sessions are backpacking, yoga, horseback riding, surfing, camp gourmet cooking, rock climbing, canoeing, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, and wildly original Alpenolympic events.

OXBOW SUMMER ART CAMP 2011

Both sessions for 14-16 year-olds

Sessions 1 and 2 are offered independent of each other.
Students can take either Session 1 or Session 2 or both.

SERIOUS ART, SERIOUS FUN!

Based on the Oxbow semester model, these sessions focus on creating project-based art in a wide variety of media. Taught by professional artists and teachers, the first week campers explore the fundamentals in drawing, painting, sculpture, fabrication and photography, to find and develop their own particular interests and creativity.

They are also exposed to a wide variety of artistic styles and different artist's work. They engage in discussions on why artists create and where they get their inspiration from. At that point, they are well prepared to propose a "final project" in the medium of their choice around a topic that has personal relavance to them. The remainer of the session is devoted to working in the studio to bring that piece being. Along the way they learn the steps of the artistic process from idea to creation, peer feedback, reflection and writing about their process, hanging/presenting the piece and having it viewed by the public.

BRYANT UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The PricewaterhouseCoopers Accounting Careers Leadership Institute at Bryant is entering its sixth year. Held on the Bryant campus, the free hands-on program, which will be held on the Bryant campus June 27-July 2, gives 40 high school seniors from as far away as Jamaica and Florida insight into the world of accounting and life as a college student. Working with Bryant accounting faculty and PwC professionals, they analyze businesses like Nike, Yahoo, Mattel and Microsoft.
